Most people who wear an Apple Watch and have linked it to their EHR are not good candidates for anticoagulant therapy for atrial fibrillation and thus do not benefit from the device's AFib detection capability, according to a study led by Josh Pevnick, co-director of the division of informatics at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. "If you're trying to provide some health benefits for people in terms of identifying atrial fibrillation, the key is probably to make sure you identify the right people," Pevnick said.
