HRSA to stop covering COVID-19 tests, treatments for
uninsured
HHS' Health Resources and Services Administration said it would
stop accepting claims today for COVID-19 tests and treatments for uninsured
Americans after the Biden administration's request for additional COVID-19
funding stalled in Congress. Administration officials said the federal
government has secured sufficient doses to administer additional COVID-19
booster shots for people ages 65 and older as well as initial doses for
children under age 5 if needed, but the government doesn't have enough money to
purchase fourth doses for other age groups, and HRSA will exhaust funds for any
vaccination-related claims by April 5.
