Many ventilation systems in Mass. not equipped to prevent spread of virus

Many buildings around the country are still poorly ventilated and lack sufficient filtration systems to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and other infections, my colleague Kay Lazar reported.

The issue is particularly concerning in Massachusetts with its abundance of historic buildings. At least half of the ventilation systems in public schools have yet to be upgraded, one expert estimated. 

“Our indoor air should be clean and healthy too,” said Dr. Alondra Nelson, head of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy. “It’s just as important as the food we eat and the water we drink.”
