FDA panel
recommends Johnson & Johnson booster at least two months after first
dose
A panel of advisers to the US Food and Drug Administration recommended
today that people who received Johnson & Johnson's
COVID-19 vaccine get a booster dose at least two months after the initial
shot.
The panel's unanimous recommendation, which is non-binding, did not set a
firm time for receiving the booster, though. Johnson & Johnson has
said the extra dose would be helpful as early as two months after the
first shot, but it could work better at the six-month mark.
The news came one
day after the panel recommended that certain recipients of
Moderna's COVID-19 vaccine get a half-dose booster shot at least six
months after their initial doses.
