Dallas, 122 other Texas ‘red zone’ counties need more COVID-19 restrictions, report for White House says

A report prepared for the White House Coronavirus Task Force this week places 123 Texas counties, including Dallas, in a "red zone" for COVID-19 and suggests stricter safety measures to slow the spread of the virus.

The recommendations include closing bars and gyms, limiting gatherings to 10 people or fewer and emphasizing outdoor restaurant dining, according to the document, which was obtained and published Thursday by the Center for Public Integrity, a nonprofit newsroom based in Washington, D.C.
