Centene Corp. this week posted...

...earnings of more than $2 billion in the second quarter of 2020, more than tripling the $643 million it reported this time last year. CEO Michael Neidorff pointed to a decrease in medical claims spurred by the COVID-19 pandemic as one of the reasons behind the shift. The company also said its Medicaid enrollment is not growing as quickly as anticipated as the pandemic rages on. Centene had 8.13 million managed Medicaid members as of July 2020, a 2.5% increase from January, according to AIS's Directory of Health Plans.
