Elda Vera, a Vera’s
Bakery employee, hasn’t seen many customers without masks. But if she
does, "we have to turn them away."
"At one point, we were offering masks," Vera said. "Right now
with the demand, we aren’t able to do that."
Vera’s Bakery is one of the small businesses that received personal protective
equipment this week from an initiative involving City Council
members Casey Thomas and Chad West, Dallas County Commissioner Elba Garcia and
the Oak Cliff Chamber of Commerce.
