Plan would split Social Security, Part A Medicare
The US Office of Management and Budget is considering a plan that
would allow people to decline Medicare Part A without forfeiting their Social
Security benefits. The idea was included in a White House executive order last
year, but Medicare advocacy groups had concerns and there is a general
consensus that nothing will happen until after the November election.
