2018 Public Use File for
the Medicare Current Beneficiary Survey (MCBS) Now Available.
The
MCBS 2018 public use file (MCBS 2018 PUF) is a publicly available file prepared
from data collected in the MCBS in 2018. The MCBS is a continuous, in-person,
longitudinal survey of a representative national sample of the Medicare
population. The MCBS 2018 PUF is prepared from data collected from
13,441 community-dwelling Medicare beneficiaries representing a population of
56 million. The PUF contains standard demographic variables, such as age
categories, race/ethnicity, and sex, as well as information about health
conditions, access to and satisfaction with care, type of insurance coverage,
and healthcare utilization.
