From the Federal Response to COVID-19 to Ongoing Efforts to Repeal
the ACA and Proposals for Lowering Drug Prices, President Trump Has an
Extensive Record on Health Care Since
taking office in 2017, President Trump has laid down an extensive record on
health care, including his response to the COVID-19 pandemic, his early and
ongoing efforts to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act (ACA), his
annual budget proposals to curb spending on Medicare and Medicaid, his
executive orders and other proposals to lower prescription drug prices, and
his initiative on hospital price transparency. President
Trump’s record on health care provides a window into his policy priorities in
an area that represents one-fifth of the U.S. economy and affects the lives
of every American. A new issue brief from KFF describes the Trump
Administration’s record on health care, including major proposals and actions
relating to the COVID-19 pandemic, the ACA and private insurance markets,
Medicaid, Medicare, prescription drugs and other health costs, sexual and
reproductive health, mental health and substance use, immigration and health,
long-term care, HIV/AIDS policy, and LGBTQ health. The
new resource is part of KFF’s ongoing efforts to provide timely and useful
information about health policy issues relevant to the 2020 elections,
including policy analysis, polling, and journalism. Find more on our Election 2020 resource page, including a side-by-side
comparison of President Trump’s record and Democratic presidential nominee
Joe Biden’s positions on key health issues. Filling
the need for trusted information on national health issues, KFF (Kaiser Family Foundation)
is a nonprofit organization based in San Francisco, California. |
