Report: 53% of seniors targeted by Social Security
scam
November's Retirement Confidence Index from SimplyWise found that
53% of seniors and 47% of people overall have been targets of a fake Social
Security text, email or phone call in the past three months. The Social
Security Administration does not make unsolicited calls, and threats of arrest
or promises to increase benefits for a fee are red flags.
