Study: Age doesn't hinder successful weight loss
A study in Clinical Endocrinology found that patients with
obesity, ages between 60 and 78, had a 7.3% body weight reduction after
lifestyle interventions, compared with a 6.9% body weight reduction among those
younger than age 60, an indication that age is not a barrier to weight loss.
The hospital-based program, which was tailored to each of the 242 patients,
consisted of dietary changes, encouragement of physical activity and
psychological support.
