Report: Caregivers juggle jobs, caregiving duties
The AARP Public Policy Institute's updated 2020 Caregiving in the
U.S. report showed 61% of family caregivers providing care for adult relatives
or friends also had a job at some point in 2019, and 53% reported it caused
them to be late, leave early, or take time off work. The report suggested
workplace solutions could include leave benefits and flexible scheduling, while
outside of work income tax credits to caregivers and family caregiver payments
are options.
