With COVID-19 cases ticking up across the country largely among
unvaccinated people, Dr. Rochelle Walensky, director for the Centers for
Disease Control and Prevention, said today that "this is becoming a pandemic of the
unvaccinated." The country's seven-day average of cases is up
to about 26,300 per day, a 70 percent increase from the previous seven-day
average. "Our biggest concern is that we are going to continue to see
preventable cases, hospitalizations, and sadly, deaths among the
unvaccinated," she said.
