Some cities and towns haven't implemented proof-of-vaccination requirements like Boston has

Boston Mayor Michelle Wu has implemented a proof-of-vaccination mandate in the city that requires patrons to show proof of a COVID-19 vaccine before entering certain indoor spaces, including restaurants, bars, gyms, and entertainment venues.

But a number of surrounding communities that initially voiced support for the initiative haven't implemented the measure themselves, my colleague Anissa Gardizy reports.

Arlington, Cambridge, Medford, and Somerville have not moved forward with the proof-of-vaccination requirement.

But Wu said on Tuesday that the requirements aren't permanent despite the expectation that COVID-19 will be "be around for a while."
