Coronavirus cases in Massachusetts are rising
steadily, in a pattern that has become worrisome to health
experts ahead of the wintertime and holiday travel season.
There has also been an uptick in
coronavirus cases in other parts of New England over the past
two weeks, including New Hampshire with a 63 percent increase and Vermont with
a 50 percent increase. Overall, 24 states have seen an increase in COVID cases
of at least 5 percent during the past two weeks.
Hospitals in the western US, such as Arizona and New Mexico, are seeing a
surge in patients infected with the coronavirus that is packing
intensive-care units.
