Recognizing Men’s Health Month in June Help the men in your life make their health a priority This Men’s Health Month, the CMS Office of Minority Health is sharing information to improve men’s health. Recognizing Men’s Health Month is part of our strategy to foster innovation by giving you tools and resources to empower patients.  We encourage everyone to help the important men in their lives get preventive care and make their health a priority. How you can help Look at the data in: Our Racial, Ethnic, and Gender Disparities in Health Care in Medicare Advantage stratified report to learn about the quality of health care Medicare beneficiaries get. Our report shows: Data by race, ethnicity, and gender because there’s evidence that care may be different for these groups. That men in ethnic and racial minorities get worse clinical care than white men. This is just one reason are why we think it’s important to highlight men’s health disparities. Our prostate cancer Data Snapshot to better understand the prevalence of prostate cancer among Medicare beneficiaries ages 65 years and older, especially among African American men. Get resources for your community: Download and share the From Coverage to Care: Put Your Health First flier, that: Has information on the men’s health preventive services that are covered by most health plans. Is available in English, Spanish, Chinese, and 5 other languages. Use the CMS Sexual and Gender Minority Clearinghouse to find surveys that include questions about sexual identity, attraction, and behavior to get a better understanding of sexual and gender minority health and disparities. Let men know how to get screened: Medicare Part B covers prostate and colorectal cancer screenings for men beginning at age 50.
