Kentucky's newly elected governor Andy Beshear (D) last week put...

... a stopper on the previous administration's efforts to add work requirements to the state's Medicaid program. Kentucky was one of the first states to win CMS approval for a work requirements program, but the initiative was struck down by a federal judge in March. Beshear said about 100,000 Kentuckians would have lost health coverage if the work requirements had gone into effect, reducing the state's Medicaid population by 7.4%.
