CDC: Almost 800 US children have developed MIS-C
The CDC reports that there have been 792 confirmed cases of
multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children, a rare syndrome linked to
COVID-19, and 16 related deaths reported in 42 states, New York City, and
Washington, D.C., as of Sept. 3. The agency also reported that almost all cases
of MIS-C occurred in youths who tested positive for COVID-19, while the others
were in youths who were around an individual with COVID-19, and that Black and
Hispanic or Latino youths have accounted for over 70% of MIS-C cases.
