Stay-at-home orders worked to curb infection rate
A study published in JAMA Network Open found that adherence to
stay-at-home orders and social distancing mandates reduced the spread of
SARS-CoV-2 and the number of COVID-19 cases. Researchers analyzed location data
from more than 45 million cellphones from March 11 to April 10 and found that
"people generally reduced their daily travel distances and increased their
home dwell time," which corresponded with a slowing in the rate of
increase in cases.
