At least 88% of patients with COVID-19 had lung damage symptoms,
such as ground-glass opacities, on CT scans and 47% had breathlessness six
weeks after being discharged, while 56% and 39% continued to have symptoms
apparent on imaging scans and breathlessness, respectively, after 12 weeks,
researchers reported at the European Respiratory Society International
Congress. Patients admitted to the intensive care unit had more severe lung
damage at discharge than those who were not, but both groups had similar
improvement rates, findings show.
