Essays on aging have common themes
Next Avenue's request for essays on aging led to more than 620
submissions, and common themes included remembering important places and
people, illness, rising families, good and bad choices, caregiving, loss,
sadness, and joy. When asked to tell how it felt to write the essay, one person
said they write to ponder what troubles, confuses, or fascinates them.
