N.C. cities see challenges as more retirees move in
Officials in the North Carolina cities of Raleigh, Durham, and
Chapel told an AARP forum that they expect more older adults to move to the
area for retirement, creating housing, transportation, and quality of life
challenges. Counties in the area have adopted master aging plans, but Chapel
Hill Mayor Pam Hemminger says housing will be the biggest challenge because
it's "only going to get more expensive and more complicated."
