What Would Dr. Fauci Do? The KHN Interview
In a new interview with
KHN (Kaiser Health News) Editor-in-Chief Elisabeth Rosenthal, Anthony
Fauci, the nation's top infectious disease expert, talks about how to
survive the coming winter months and describes how hard it is when people
insist that the coronavirus crisis is “fake news.”
Among the topics Dr.
Fauci discussed were whether the U.S. needs a national mask mandate and
other measures such as shutdowns, whether Americans should trust the
vaccine approval process, if some masks are better than others, whether
it is safe to travel over the holidays, and when people might be able to
stop wearing masks and get back to normal life.
A column based on the
interview by Dr. Rosenthal, a fellow physician, appears today on KHN.org
and in The New York Times. The full interview can be heard in a special
episode of KHN’s “What the Health?” podcast.
Our regular weekly
"What the Health?" podcast
hosted by KHN Chief Washington Correspondent Julie Rovner and featuring
top health policy reporters discussing the Dr. Fauci interview and other
top health policy news stories will be available on Friday.
