Breast cancer cells played hide-and-seek

Why it matters: Researchers say increased levels of a protein called MAL2 on the surface of some breast cancer cells helps them avoid detection and attack by immune cells. The hope is that this discovery will help scientists devise new immunotherapies that are more effective in battling breast cancer.
