With all the talk about Republican states slow to get on board, this stat seems
lost on the media. Overall in the U.S. Asians lead with 62 percent vaccinated.
Whites are at 47 percent, Hispanics 39 percent and blacks 34 percent (CDC).
Much to the frustration of the left, unvaccinated Americans are the least concerned about the Delta variant (Politico).
From Byron York on the red state hesitancy: If President Donald Trump had won re-election, the vaccine skepticism might have leaned more to the other side. We can’t say that for sure, of course, but we do know that during the 2020 presidential campaign, top Democratic leaders, like candidate Joe Biden and running mate Kamala Harris, were laying the groundwork for vaccine skepticism before they won the election. Some media allies followed their lead. After victory and prepared to take office, though, Biden and Harris became full-speed-ahead on the vaccine (Washington Examiner).
A reminder from a Daily Kos tweet from September 2020: Kamala Harris wouldn’t trust a Trump vaccine, and neither should anyone else (Twitter).
