Patriot Day

Patriot Day Proclamation. Signed by Governor Pete Ricketts and Secretary of State Bob Evnen.

September 11, 2021 marked the 20th anniversary of the deadliest terror attack on American soil. The United States will never forget the civilians and the first responders who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. While we remember the victims of the September 11 attacks, we also take time to honor and remember our military service members who have worked tirelessly to keep our nation safe in the 20 years since.

Governor Pete Ricketts issued a proclamation declaring September 11, 2021 to be Patriot Day in Nebraska. You can read the full proclamation by clicking below.

Ask The Question

The Nebraska Department of Veterans’ Affairs and Department of Health and Human Services are continuing to encourage service providers and local agencies across the state to “ask the question” (Have you or a family member ever served in the military?) on intake forms and interviews where appropriate. “Asking the question” ensures more veterans will be able to connect with resources and services specific to their needs. NDVA has a webpage dedicated to the “Ask The Question” campaign with more information and resources for service providers.
