Only 54 percent
of the 5.3 million fully vaccinated people in Massachusetts have gotten their
booster shots, according to the Department of Public Health.
That’s better than the national average: 44 percent. But not good enough,
according to Dr. Sabrina Assoumou, an assistant professor of medicine at Boston
University School of Medicine. “It is very important for people who are
eligible to get boosted.”
The data was released amid concerns about the BA.2 Omicron
subvariant, which could cause a resurgence of COVID cases.
