The Center for Medicaid and CHIP Services
Improving Asthma Control Affinity Group State Spotlights Webinar
The Centers for
Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is pleased to invite all interested
individuals from state Medicaid and CHIP agencies, health plans, and their
quality improvement (QI) partners to join us as we feature state projects
from our Improving Asthma Control affinity group. Please register at Mathematica
WebEx - Register Meeting for the State
Spotlights in Asthma Control webinar, Wednesday, February 22, 2023, from
2:00 pm ET to 3:00 pm ET.
The CMS Medicaid and
CHIP QI program provides state Medicaid and CHIP agencies, and their QI
partners, with the information, tools, and expert support they need to
improve care and outcomes for Medicaid and CHIP beneficiaries. Asthma is
one of the most common chronic illnesses in the United States, affecting
roughly 10 percent of children and adults who are enrolled in Medicaid or
CHIP. There are many evidence-based strategies available to improve
population-level asthma control, including clinical, environmental, and
community-based interventions, and these strategies can improve health and
well-being, and reduce health care expenditures associated with asthma.
From June 2020
through June 2022, CMS supported eight states participating in the Improving Asthma Control
affinity group. This webinar will feature state QI projects from the
affinity group, highlighting state strategies, partnerships, and lessons
learned. The recording of the webinar will be posted on the quality
improvement initiatives page of Medicaid.gov. We hope you can join us!
