Big cities still mattered

Why it matters: As employees continue to work from home during the pandemic, companies may rethink their strategies for locating corporate headquarters. In some cases, companies could move to a hub-and-spoke model that involves headquarters in major urban areas as well as a network of satellite campuses. 

But, but, but: Reports of the death of big cities have been grossly exaggerated. Humans have always flocked to cities, even in the aftermath of pandemics and wars. Big cities are here to stay, but it might not always cost so much to live in one.
