English speakers might be more at-risk of spreading COVID-19



Why it matters: This theory sounds wacky. But the more you think about it, the more it makes sense. Speaking English means using aspirated consonants like P, T and K, which means small droplets fly from the mouth of the speaker. There are all kinds of variables when it comes to the spread of COVID-19, but researchers studied 26 countries and found countries with aspirated consonants had 20% higher rates of COVID-19. Suffering succotash ... it's a good thing we don't all talk like Sylvester the Cat.
