Older people often financially exploited by family members

A study from the Pennsylvania Department of Aging showed that older adults who were financially exploited were most likely to be victimized by family members, either an adult child or grandchild. The average amount taken was $40,000 and most of the victims were older women who lived alone, according to the study which examined 446 cases from 2017 to 2018.
