Comparing
President Trump and Joe Biden on Women’s Health Issues With less than a month
until Election Day and in the midst of presidential debate season, a new KFF brief summarizes the positions of President
Trump and Democratic nominee Joe Biden on key women’s health issues. Women,
and particularly women in the suburbs, are expected to be a key voting group
in the election. President Trump and former Vice President Biden contrast
sharply on significant health issues for women, including the Affordable Care
Act, access to and coverage of contraceptives, access to abortion and the
future of Roe v. Wade. These and other issue positions are
detailed in side-by-side tables of their records and campaign proposals. Beyond the presidential
and congressional elections, voters in three states (Colorado, Louisiana and
Washington) will also decide on four ballot measures that could play a
significant role in shaping policies and programs that impact women’s health.
A second new brief examines the initiatives and their
potential effects. The 2020 Presidential Election: Implications for Women’s Health
and Women’s Health on the Ballot continue KFF’s efforts
to provide timely and useful information related to the health policy issues
relevant for the 2020 elections, including policy analysis, polling, and
journalism. Find more on our Election 2020 resource page. Filling
the need for trusted information on national health issues, KFF (Kaiser Family Foundation)
is a nonprofit organization based in San Francisco, California. |
