Here's what's new on our
COVID-19 resource page:
Plain-language guide for workers with DD: ACL's
Self Advocacy Resource and Technical Assistance Center and Green Mountain
Self-Advocates have released a new booklet, COVID-19
Plain Language Guidance for Employees with Developmental Disabilities. The
booklet describes many federal rules to protect workers from COVID-19. It
includes information and tools to use to make a decision about going out
in public during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Celebrating Safely: The CDC is offering
information to consider, along with state and local guidance,
as you plan for Halloween, Día de los Muertos, and Thanksgiving.

Center on Law and Elder Rights:
Transportation and our new normal: Slides are
now available from a recent webinar on rethinking transportation services
for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities for
the COVID-19 era hosted by ACL and the HHS Office of the
National Coordinator for Health Information Technology.
Staying connected with assistive tech: The
National Assistive Technology Act Technical Assistance and Training (AT3)
Center has posted slides and
a video
recording of their September 24 webinar highlighting
Connecticut’s CARES Act “Stay Connected” program,
Understanding resilience: At a
time when we are all coping, or helping others cope, with stress,
anxiety, and grief brought about by a global pandemic, NIH Director Dr.
Francis Collins and Dr. George Ever.
Resources from ASPR: The HHS Assistant
Secretary for Preparedness and Response's Technical Resources, Assistance
Center, and Information Exchange (TRACIE) has provided a variety of new
resources including slides and a recording of their September
24 webinar on optimizing PPE, COVID-19
and seasonal flu vaccination planning resources, and a
literature review on pediatric surge of infectious disease at
long-term care facilities.
Tell Me More About Vaccines: HHS
has released a
new 6 minute video all about vaccines. The video discusses
what makes vaccines so important, and how history, science, experience,
and ingenuity have paved the way for today's effort to create a coronavirus
vaccine in record time.
