ACL’s COVID-19 Resources: What’s New

Here's what's new on our COVID-19 resource page

Plain-language guide for workers with DD: ACL's Self Advocacy Resource and Technical Assistance Center and Green Mountain Self-Advocates have released a new booklet, COVID-19 Plain Language Guidance for Employees with Developmental Disabilities. The booklet describes many federal rules to protect workers from COVID-19. It includes information and tools to use to make a decision about going out in public during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Celebrating Safely: The CDC is offering information to consider, along with state and local guidance, as you plan for Halloween, Día de los Muertos, and Thanksgiving.

Tools for legal professionals: Here are just a few coronavirus-related resources developed by ACL's National Center on Law and Elder Rights:

Transportation and our new normal: Slides are now available from a recent webinar on rethinking transportation services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities for the COVID-19 era hosted by ACL and the HHS Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology.

Staying connected with assistive tech: The National Assistive Technology Act Technical Assistance and Training (AT3) Center has posted slides and a video recording of their September 24 webinar highlighting Connecticut’s CARES Act “Stay Connected” program,

Understanding resilience: At a time when we are all coping, or helping others cope, with stress, anxiety, and grief brought about by a global pandemic, NIH Director Dr. Francis Collins and  Dr. George Ever.

Resources from ASPR: The HHS Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response's Technical Resources, Assistance Center, and Information Exchange (TRACIE) has provided a variety of new resources including slides and a recording of their September 24 webinar on optimizing PPECOVID-19 and seasonal flu vaccination planning resources, and a literature review on pediatric surge of infectious disease at long-term care facilities.

Tell Me More About Vaccines: HHS has released a new 6 minute video all about vaccines. The video discusses what makes vaccines so important, and how history, science, experience, and ingenuity have paved the way for today's effort to create a coronavirus vaccine in record time.
