Many uninsured not aware of their Medicaid, ACA
options
An Urban Institute and Robert Wood Johnson Foundation study found
that although many uninsured Americans qualify, they have not enrolled or did
not consider enrolling in Medicaid or the Affordable Care Act marketplace
health plan due to "lack of awareness or understanding of publicly
subsidized coverage options." Researchers urged the federal government to
implement several policies such as expanding outreach and enrollment support
and reducing complexities around ACA or Medicaid enrollment "to improve
awareness and accessibility of Marketplace and Medicaid/CHIP coverage."
