The Moderna vaccine was reverse engineered

Why it matters: A team of scientists from Stanford reverse engineered the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine and posted the putative sequence of two synthetic RNA molecules on a public website. The scientists say the FDA knew they were going to post the information and they also say they alerted Moderna, but didn't get a response or objection.
