Facebook's big day earned it another significant
milestone: The company became just the fifth U.S.-listed company with a market
vaue of $1 trillion or more. All five of the so-called megacap tech companies
are now part of the $1 trillion club. My colleague Eric
Savitz notes that it could be a while before we get No. 6.
Tesla, the
next largest company in the S&P 500, has a market value of $647 billion.
Growth companies can amass value quickly, though.
Facebook's value has more than doubled since its Covid-era low of $416 billion
