On June 7-9, VA and SAMHSA hosted a policy academy for their Governor’s Challenge to Prevent Suicide Among Service Members, Veterans, and their Families. The team from Nebraska heard from experts and leaders in mental health, veterans issues, suicide prevention, and more; participated in various work sessions to develop strategies for preventing suicide in our state; and shared their work in a report out (pictured above) to the other states and territories involved this year - Alaska, American Samoa, Hawaii, Iowa, New Mexico, and North Dakota.
