...Medicare Advantage (MA) products have considerably lower costs than dual eligibles in the Medicare fee-for-service system. MA duals health costs averaged to $11,519, compared to $13,398 for their fee-for-service counterparts. MA duals also had 42.1% fewer emergency room visits than fee-for-service duals. 2,178,784 people are currently enrolled in Dual Eligible Special Needs Plans (D-SNPs), the most common form of managed Medicare plan for duals.
