Webinar: Tools to Help Care for Older Adults in Disasters

The National Center for Disaster Medicine and Public Health
(NCDMPH) and the Office of the Assistant Secretary for
Preparedness and Response (ASPR) are pleased to announce the next
upcoming webinar, Tools to Help
Care for Older Adults in Disasters, presented by Dr. Cheryl A.
Levine, Senior Advisor for At-Risk Individuals at ASPR and Kandra
Strauss-Riggs, MPH, Education Director, HJF, NCDMPH/USU.
Dr. Levine will be promoting the latest Capacity-Building
Toolkit for including Aging & Disability Networks in Emergency Planning,
which was authored by the National Association of County and City Health
Officials (NACCHO) and the Association of State and Territorial Health
Officials (ASTHO) in collaboration with the HHS office of the Assistant
Secretary for Preparedness and Response (ASPR) and the HHS Administration
for Community Living (ACL).
Ms. Strauss-Riggs will be promoting the Caring for Older
Adults in Disasters curriculum. The purpose of this curriculum is to enable
educators to teach health professionals about caring for older adults in
disasters. This curriculum can be used by a wide range of health
professions.
