Retailers in the city of Dallas and Dallas County that are trying to
keep their national e-commerce businesses going from local stores and offices
may be violating the shelter-in-place rules that went into effect Tuesday.
It has not been clear whether retailers who ship purchases made online
can continue to do so under the shelter-in-place rules. The
guidelines for e-commerce aren’t in the city’s ruling, on the frequently asked
questions pages or in Dallas County’s documents.
The Dallas Morning News has attempted this week
to clarify the e-commerce rules with the offices of County Judge Clay Jenkins
and Mayor Eric Johnson.
