ACA risk corridor payments start flowing to insurers


The federal government has started sending $12 billion in risk corridor payments under the Affordable Care Act to health insurance providers for coverage provided from 2014 through 2016. HHS had argued Congress did not fund the risk corridor program, intended to support insurers in difficult markets, but the Supreme Court ruled in April the payments had to be made.
