Accessible webinars were about what attendees see
Why it matters: I had no idea Friday's article about how the
deaf and hard of hearing experience video conference calls would become a
trilogy, but it's an important issue, so here we are. A team of experts
conducted three webinars to create case studies to advance the conversation
about crafting more accessible video conference content. There is a lot to
unpack in each case study.
I am new to this conversation, but I moderate a lot of webinars and the tip I
found most valuable was to focus on what attendees
are seeing, not presenters. Those two views can differ dramatically, but there
are settings in platforms like Zoom that can help bridge the gap.
