Blacks, Hispanics less likely to get COVID-19 vaccine
New CDC data revealed more than half of almost 13 million people
who received COVID-19 vaccines during the first month of rollout were whites,
while just over 5% were Blacks and less than 12% were Hispanics. Census figures
showed Black and Hispanic people account for roughly 13% and about 19% of the
US population, respectively, and they have higher risk of getting infected with
the novel coronavirus and dying from it compared with white people, according
to the CDC.
