Today marked a significant milestone in Massachusetts'
fight against the coronavirus: the end of the commonwealth's state of emergency
after 462 days. The change likely won't have a dramatic effect on your everyday
life, given that most pandemic-era restrictions in Massachusetts were dropped
at the end of May. But it will end some other pandemic guidelines, including a
ban on surge pricing for ride share companies.
- The Massachusetts House passed a bill today extending a variety
of pandemic-era policies, but not before the midnight deadline when the
state of emergency expired.
