Making Sense of Medicare-For-All and
Other Proposals to Expand Public Coverage
With
the new Democratic House majority and many 2020 presidential candidates
talking about what’s next in health care, there’s renewed attention on
reforms that would expand coverage and make health care more affordable.
These include proposals to create a national Medicare-for-all plan, a public
plan option, and allowing some Americans to buy into existing
public programs such as Medicare and Medicaid.
At 1 p.m. ET
Tuesday, May 21, KFF will hold a web briefing to examine
these proposals and their implications for the nation’s health care system.
The briefing will feature KFF senior vice presidents Mollyann
Brodie, Tricia Neuman and Larry
Levitt (as moderator).
The
discussion will address key questions such as:
The panel
will take questions from participants after a brief presentation drawing on
KFF’s analysis and polling on the issues, including an interactive side-by-side comparison of nine bills
introduced in Congress this year.
Filling the need for trusted information on
national health issues, the Kaiser Family Foundation is a
nonprofit organization based in San Francisco, California.
