Webinar 5/22:
Strengthening Benefits Access for Diverse Older Adults
Culturally sensitive outreach to, and support for, diverse
older adults and their families is an essential component of effective
service delivery. Since 2015, ACL/AoA has been funding five national
organizations to develop resources, training, and technical assistance to
the aging services network and entities who work specifically with diverse
populations to better meet the needs of their consumers. These
organizations also provide direct outreach and support to older adults
themselves on a range of issues. The organizations that make up ACL's
Minority Resource Center Consortium include:
- National Caucus and Center
on Black Aging, Inc.;
- National Indian Council on
Aging, Inc.;
- SAGE: Advocacy &
Services for LGBT Elders;
- National Asian Pacific
Center on Aging; and
- Asociacion Nacional Pro
Personas Mayores.
During this webinar, participants will learn about the work of
the Consortium grantees, including the technical assistance and training
they can provide to Senior Medicare Patrols (SMPs), State Health Insurance
Assistance Programs (SHIPs), and Medicare Improvement for Patients and
Providers programs (MIPPAs), and explore opportunities to improve their
capacity to outreach and serve diverse populations of beneficiaries.
