Today, the Centers for Medicare
& Medicaid Services (CMS) released the second annual Medicaid and
Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) Scorecard, a central component
of the Administration’s commitment to modernize the Medicaid and CHIP
program through greater transparency and accountability for the program’s
administration and outcomes.
Using the most recently
available data, CMS updated the Scorecard by expanding the data in the
national context pages and adding measures to the state health system
performance and the state and federal administrative accountability
pillars.

The Scorecard website also
includes enhancements such as improved navigation and overall design. CMS
added interactive visualizations for a subset of the Scorecard measures which
allow users to toggle between measure rates and sort data in various ways.
The Scorecard builds on earlier
releases and serves as a significant step to improve transparency and
accountability through public reporting.
