States tighten rules as COVID-19 hospitalizations rise
Several states are implementing new measures such as restrictions
on public gatherings to control the spread of COVID-19 as hospitalizations hit
record levels in Wisconsin, Montana, Wyoming, Nebraska, South Dakota and North
Dakota. The US reported 39,500 new infections and almost 500 deaths on Monday,
bringing the total number of reported cases to 7.46 million and deaths to
210,300 since the pandemic started.
