Study: Hospitalized COVID-19 patients face clot risks
A study published in the journal Research and Practice in
Thrombosis and Haemostasis found hospitalized COVID-19 patients are at risk of
developing serious blood clots, especially the sickest patients. Those who were
critically ill or in intensive care had the highest risk for clots, with 23% of
COVID-19 patients in the intensive care unit developing deep vein thrombosis,
while DVT prevalence overall among hospitalized patients with COVID-19 was 14%.
